Snoqualmie Falls & Twin Peaks Adventure.

September 2021.

Starting our trip out with breakfast.
Multnomah Falls
The View of Mt. Saint Helens from the Visitor center

Portland, Oregon.

We flew in the night before, met up with one of my Best friends and had dinner. I didn’t really document the first day because we didn’t do much except for a quick visit to Multnomah Falls and then meeting up with Alea. We stayed in the Hawthorne area of Portland in this Airbnb and left the next day to head out to Snoqualmie falls. I’ve had breakfast at Jam on Hawthorne before and I knew that was where I wanted to grab a bite. Before going to Snoqualmie we saw that the Mt. Saint Helens Visitor center wasn’t too far off our path so we decided to make a stop there. It was closed and from what I researched still is closed at this point, but they had a little gift stand and some rangers talking about St. Helens outside. There was a little hiking area behind the visitor center, we walked on it for a little bit and then turned around. I would still stop and check it out for sure!

Snoqualmie Falls

Okay, so when you look up Snoqualmie falls it’s a 260 or 270 something foot waterfall, every site will tell you something different, (not that the exact measurements matter anyway). These falls are located about 30 minutes outside of Seattle, this is a must do trip for any nature lover or Twin Peaks fan. Expect this to be a fairly busy attraction, we had long waits at the gift shop and hiked along with a lot of other people and families. Both parking and observing here is free, which is super awesome. Cue the Twin Peaks theme song! that’s all I could hear the entire time staring at the falls and The Great Northern Hotel (The Salish Lodge). I did look into staying at The Salish Lodge, but we ended up staying in Kent, WA. instead. This really is gorgeous and the hike to the bottom of the falls is a perfect distance to feel like you hiked without it kicking your butt. Its about a 1.4 mile hike and I would say some of the inclines made me have to stop and take a 2 minute break here and there. Also, if you have your hairy best friend with you, you can bring them on a leash! wether its a Dog, Big Foot or your friend Dave.

*Make sure to bring your rain coat with you, this is the PNW Folks, you will most likely get misted on.

The RR Diner or (Twedes Cafe)

You can’t have a Twin Peaks adventure without a stop at the RR Diner for a “Damn Fine Cup of Coffee” and some Cherry Pie (even though Dale Cooper enjoys his Damn Fine cup in the Great Northern lodge). From what I understand its not about the coffee actually being good, its all about the experience! We had such an amazing time at Twedes cafe, our server was an awesome guy, he knew we were Twin Peak fans and he had a lot of great advice as to where we could check out other filming locations. Twedes Cafe is located in North Bend, WA. even if you’re not a fan of the show, you should still check out the surrounding area.

Twedes Cafe (R&R)
Damn Fine and Delicious

The above listed are just some of the locations you can check out to fill your Twin Peaks hole. *Some of these locations you will have to ask if you can look around like The Kiana Lodge & DirtFish.

I’m going to be splitting this trip up into a couple different blogs.. this was quite the extensive trip and I really did a lot of planning for this one. We stayed in Kent, Wa. this night and I will also have to talk about the Airbnb we stayed in because that deserves its own post! it was…. to give you a hint, totally radical!
